Information for Participants

1. Research data

This research project consists of performing simple interaction tasks with your smartphone such as: creating an unlock pattern, writing text, reading text, viewing images, playing a visual speed game, signing your name and walking for 15 seconds. During these tasks, the App will collect interaction data on the touch screen and data captured by the motion sensors available on your smartphone. No information will be captured from the device's microphone or cameras.

The objective of this data capture is to carry out a research project to develop biometric recognition systems that allow the user to be recognized by their interaction in a transparent way (without having to perform a specific action) and continuously, and thus significantly improve the security of mobile devices.

The App presents 4 data capture sessions. To carry out the next session, you must wait at least 2 days from the previous session. The approximate duration of each capture session is between 5 and 8 minutes.

2. Confidentiality

Each participant is assigned an alphanumeric code that preserves the confidentiality of the data in accordance with Organic Law 3/2018 of December 5 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights.

The data will be stored for the time necessary and essential for the research in the secure OneDrive repository offered by the UAM to its teachers, which guarantees its correct storage.

Your participation is completely voluntary and you can stop it at any time without having to give any kind of explanation. If you have any questions, you can ask the principal investigator via email: ruben.vera@uam.es

5. I give my consent voluntarily and I know that I am free to withdraw from the study at any time, for any reason and without any explanation.

6. I consent that the results of this research in the form of aggregated data may be used in future publications or for scientific purposes related to the line of research.
